Visiting Wills Family Orchard - FAQs
Our Farm
Our farm is not only our family business, but it is a way of life for us. Our home is located on our farm where we maintain daily chores and reap the benefits of living in the country where we raised our children and continue to produce & harvest crops. We look forward to sharing a slice of our farm life with you and your family and friends every fall.

Do you allow private events and parties at your farm while open to the public?
Private events while our farm is open to the public are not allowed. Consequently, all signs, banners, solicitations, handouts, fundraisers or giveaway promotions, etc., are also not allowed.
Can I bring food onto the farm?
We do not allow outside food or beverage to be brought onto our farm. Tailgating with food and beverage at or near your vehicle in the parking area is also not allowed. We have food items for snacks, as well as lunch food and beverages available for purchase during your visit.

Do you allow animals/pets?
We do not allow animals or pets to be brought onto our farm with the exception of service animals and service-animals-in-training per Iowa Code Section 216C.11. A service animal must be under the control of its handler. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
Photography
Taking photos with your phone is allowed and even encouraged. Photography is allowed only with prior approval and fee. Please reach out to learn more.
What is appropriate footwear for visiting your farm?
We maintain a working farm. That means we are engaged in the production and harvest of crops, which necessitates the use of tractors and other heavy equipment. Our ground is not always smooth for walking. Consequently, we suggest wearing closed-toed shoes for comfortability and safety, particularly if you will be participating in any of our activities, like picking pumpkins or apples.
Do you have a parking area for those with a Disabilities Parking Permit?
Yes, we have a parking area that provides closer access to our General Store for those with a Disabilities Parking Permit. A sign signifying this parking area is visible upon driving up to our General Store.
Is there an Admission Fee/Activity Fee?
We do not charge an admission fee to enter the farm. However, we do require purchase of an Activity Pass or Seasonal Pass for those wishing to participate in the activities that we offer. Children, age 12 & younger, must be supervised by an accompanying parent or adult (age 18 or older) who also must purchase an Activity Pass or Seasonal Pass. Participation in the activities that we offer not only provides you with more photo opportunities, but it’s the best way to most fully enjoy your time on our farm with family or friends.
What form of payments do you take?
We accept cash and most forms of credit cards.
Do you close for inclement weather?
Weather conditions could cause us to limit our outdoor activities and hours but generally, scattered light rain does not cause us to change our plans. We will post any changes to our normal business hours on our social media.
Where are you located?
We are located just 20 minutes west of West Des Moines.
Our address is: 33130 Panther Creek Road, Adel, Iowa 50003
